Here are a few updates for the month of November 2022.
Payroll & Finance
1. Update Sales Tax in Employee Fixed Payment & Deduction Master (FC: TH6_MT_UPDATE_SALES_TAX_EMP_FIXED_PYMT_DEDUCT_MASTER)
The Singapore government will raise GST from 7% to 8% from January 1, 2023, and from 8% to 9% effective January 1, 2024. As a result, it is critical that all users who are set to the default GST rate of 7% update immediately. That is why, in the Synergix ERP system, we create a screen that users may edit as needed.
In the Synergix ERP system, we have an update on Employee Master Screen. Specifically, the system changes from the old sale tax to the new sale tax for a fixed payment and fixed deduction.
2. E2 Customer Class (FC: TH6_CUSTOMER_CLASS)
This month, in Synergix ERP system, we have updated the E2 Customer Class to a faster and better version. Customer Class Maintenance is to let users maintain the customer class globally to all company branches for grouping the customers.
This is mainly for the general ledger to double entry updates as well as report purposes when the manager requires a greater detailed analysis of customers’ performance. Users can group their customers into:
- Local Trade Customers
- Local Sundries\Others Customers
- SEA Trade Customers
- ASIA Trade Customers, etc.

3. Implementation of IR8A Application Programming Interface (API) (FC: TH5_IR8A_API_FILE_EXTRACTION)
Before submitting employment income information (IR8A, Appendix 8A), employers have to extract IR8A/A8A file submission and upload it to IRAS website via Validation and Submission application which no longer works from 2023.
Now IR8A API screen allows employers to validate and submit employment income information (IR8A, Appendix 8A) to IRAS directly without doing any side steps. And if submission data has any issues, the error message will pop up right away on the working screen.

4. Enhancement to revert Benefits In Kind / Director Fees to draft
(FC: E1 – TH6_PY_BENEFITS_IN_KIND_ĐIRECTOR_FEE)
‘Enhancement to revert Benefits in Kind/Director Fees to draft’ is made to change the benefits in kind/director fees. We add a “Status column” at the last column of the history tab, and change the content of the error message in case of keying in the wrong form of the approval date.
