Ricon Private Limited (RPL), distributors of quality construction machinery in Singapore since the early 70’s, is well known in the industry. RPL’s expertise in representing the best companies and providing unparalleled maintenance services has consistently made her the first choice for major construction contractors in the region. Established in 1971, RPL main business activities are concentrated on the sales of new and used construction and industrial equipment, spare parts, repairs and providing after sales services. RPL’s operations and customer base caters to all sectors of Singapore and as such, has a Head office in Tuas as well as a Town office to serve the central and eastern parts of the country.
RPL eventually decided to choose Synergix Technologies as their ERP vendor, citing the open platform technology and web-based solution a perfect fit to their needs.“We no longer had to be restricted to a particular server or database, we could change or scale the hardware according to our requirements, we have two offices in different parts of Singapore, all sales transactions and inventory updates to my database can be also be made in my Town office simply with a Internet connection and a web browser” noted Mr Tan. RPL however states that the technology was not the most critical factor in clinching the deal. It was the service and expertise of the staff of Synergix Technologies. “ If you look at ERP software out in the market, across the board, the functionalities are almost the same, the key difference among all this vendors was the service and expertise that they offered” said Mr Tan.
What impressed RPL was that at the get-go, from the first initial meeting, to the live run and to the after sales support service, the staff at Synergix Technologies delivered. “The sales staff made me feel that they were working to provide a solution for me and not pushing me to buy their product” noted Mr Tan. The implementation team, with at least 6 years of experience under their belts also provided RPL with fast and efficient service to quickly determine needs and properly and correctly fit the software to RPL’s business process within the budgeted timeframe. “We had a problem in our inventory balance in the initial live run. The sales consultant did not shun away from the problem. Instead, sustained support and guidance was provided until the problem was solved.” said Eugene. The after sales support team also came up tops in Mr Tan’s books.
With Synergix software in place, all transactions are captured and accounted for, be it from the Head office or in the Town office. Staff in the Town office no longer had to waste unnecessary time using the phone to check on stock availability and faxing sales orders to the main office for recording and accounting purposes. The staff at RPL can now easily do all that on line. “Staff productivity has definitely increased, and I no longer have any worries about the quality of service support and maintenance as compared to the previous system. The recent software upgrades I received, included the fine tuning of my database and the archiving and deletion of past records, is one example. The choice to go with Synergix has proven to be a strategic as well as an economical one” quipped Mr Tan.
